Spinal Synergy Method™

Your Spinal Synergy Session

What to Expect Before, During and After Your Session

Your first Spinal Synergy Method™ session is designed to feel calm, clear and unhurried. The session is not about forcing the body to change; it is about creating the right conditions for the body to settle, respond and reconnect.

Your body. Your pace. Your experience.

Nervous System → Spine → Breath → Body → Energy → Integration
Step 0 — Arrival

Before Your Session

We Begin by Listening

Your practitioner will start with a short, comprehensive consultation to understand the wider picture of your health, tension patterns, and individual needs rather than focusing solely on a single isolated symptom.

What We May Discuss:

  • • What you are currently experiencing
  • • Where you feel tension or discomfort
  • • How long the pattern has been present
  • • Daily stress levels & work demands
  • • Sleep quality and rest patterns
  • • Breathing patterns & respiratory habits
  • • Previous injuries or surgeries
  • • Relevant medical history
  • • Prior massage or bodywork experience
  • • What you would most like support with
You are always encouraged to share anything that may affect your comfort, sensitivity or safety during the session.
During Your Session

The Six-Part Sequence

How our core framework comes alive in treatment: calm, precise, and attuned to your body.

Step 1 — Nervous System

Creating Conditions to Settle

Before doing more, we notice how your body is responding: Is it calm or alert? Are you resting easily? Are certain areas guarded? We use gentle contact, stillness and intentional pauses to support settling.

We do not force relaxation.
We allow the body the quiet time it needs to find it.
Step 2 — Spine

Observing the Central Axis

Observing how the head, spine, rib cage, pelvis and sacrum relate to each other: posture, left–right balance, and areas of guarding. Not to judge what is “wrong”, but to understand how your body organises itself.

Non-force approach.
Spinal Synergy Method™ does not rely on forceful spinal manipulation or cracking.
Step 3 — Breath

Listening to the Natural Breath

Breathing provides immediate feedback: where it travels, whether it is shallow, and how it shifts with touch. You do not need to perform complex breathing exercises; our aim is to observe your natural breath.

Organic expansion.
As the body settles, breathing organically becomes deeper and less restricted.
Step 4 — Body

Gentle, Precise Touch

Hands-on work around the cranial–spinal–sacral axis. Less kneading or rubbing, more light contact, sustained holds, subtle movement, and pauses between contact points.

Gentle does not mean superficial.
The intention is precision and communication, not mechanical force.
Step 5 — Energy

Noticing the Subtle Experience

Some notice subtle sensations: warmth, coolness, tingling, heaviness, lightness, flowing sensations, grounding, or emotional shifts. You may also feel none of these—both are completely normal.

No correct response.
Recognised as part of holistic wellbeing, not a medical diagnosis.
Step 6 — Integration

Allowing the Session to Settle

The final moments are unhurried. Moments of stillness are allowed before you sit or stand, noticing how your breathing feels, how your body rests, and changes in ease and connection.

Beyond the table.
The session is about how the whole body responds and integrates afterward.
During & After Treatment

What Might You Feel?

Everyone responds differently. You may experience deeper breathing, sighing, yawning, warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness, subtle muscular movement, emotional shifts, or deep stillness.

Some fall into a deeply relaxed state; others remain fully alert. Some notice many sensations; others notice very little. All responses are completely valid and normal.

Give Yourself a Little Time

Some feel immediately calm or lighter; others notice changes gradually over the next several hours. You may become more aware of your posture, softer areas, or simple relaxation.

Simple Guidelines

Recommended Aftercare

There is no need to force a reaction or actively try to “release” anything after your session. We recommend:

  • • Drinking fresh water as normal
  • • Allowing time to rest and unwind
  • • Avoiding unnecessary physical overload immediately afterward
  • • Noticing natural changes in breathing or movement
  • • Gentle walking and easy movement
  • • Observing how your body feels over the following 24–48 hours
  • • Continuing any specific advice from your healthcare provider
Practical Information

Common Questions About Your Session

Everything you need to know to prepare comfortably for your appointment.

How long is a session?

Session length varies by practitioner and clinic. Your practitioner will confirm appointment duration, consultation time, treatment time, pricing and follow-up options before booking.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose clothing is generally recommended for clothed bodywork. If any change of clothing is required, your practitioner will explain this beforehand to ensure your comfort and privacy.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no fixed number. Some book an occasional wellness session; others choose a series for long-standing patterns. You will never be pressured to commit to an extensive treatment plan.

Can I talk during the session?

Yes. Some prefer quiet; others communicate throughout. You can always tell your practitioner if something feels uncomfortable, if pressure needs adjusting, or if you wish to change position.

Medical Clearance

When Should I Speak With a Healthcare Professional First?

Please seek appropriate medical advice before booking if you are experiencing sudden/severe unexplained pain, recent major injury, recent spinal/cranial surgery, new weakness or numbness, severe dizziness, chest pain, significant breathing difficulty, loss of bladder/bowel control, or unstable medical conditions.

Please also inform your practitioner if you are pregnant or receiving ongoing medical treatment. Spinal Synergy Method™ is a complementary wellness approach and does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.

Arrive As You Are

Your Session Is About Your Body

There is no performance required. You do not need to relax perfectly. You do not need to feel energy. You do not need to experience a dramatic release. You simply need to arrive as you are — the practitioner works with what your body presents in that moment.

Nervous System → Spine → Breath → Body → Energy → Integration

Your body. Your pace. Your experience.
